Environmental performance
Our vision
Acting as an ecological partner for our customers
Embracing an eco-responsible approach in our daily activities
Attaining carbon neutrality by 2035

Day-to-day, GMP is engaged in a decarbonisation process, which is supported by a range of “green” actions:
- implementation of water drainage infrastructures to purify rainwater before it is released into the sea
- project to replace lighting with LEDs at the terminals
- massive investment in the deployment of hybrid energies: the straddle carriers are equipped with a hybrid engine, reducing CO2 emissions by 50 tonnes a year
- new used oil recovery systems have been installed, reducing the risk of pollution
- photovoltaic equipment has been installed to power our facilities
- researching and testing of biofuels for HGVs and light vehicles, to optimise combustion and minimise carbon emissions
- since 2023, GMP has decided to use green electricity certified “guarantee of origin” to power its facilities and equipment.
- A range of committed partnerships:
-in cooperation with TotalEnergies, GMP is committed to using clean oils for the operation of its handling equipment.
-in collaboration with PERMA, GMP is developing an automatic lubrication system for its gantry cranes.
Our environmental approach
GMP is fully committed to carrying out its carbon footprint via the GCI – Global Climate Initiative platform.
With this device and the ISO 14064-1/ISO 14083 standard, GMP :
- calculate its carbon footprint
- measure the benefit of each action
In 2023, the carbon weight of a complete journey (in and out) of a container within GMP is 6.7 kg.
