Containers handling

A recognized expertise

As a key player in the global ports industry, we have the know-how, commitment and experience to help our customers and partners go further and faster to achieve their goals. Port handling has been our core business for several decades, and we can meet your expectations and needs with responsiveness and professionalism, 7/7 and 24/24, 362 days a year. A system of road “rendezvous” (only for Terminal de France) is set up to facilitate, streamline and optimize the passage of goods and associated handling operations. This expertise allows us to handle the largest container ships in the world. We are proud to have consolidated strong commercial relationships with two shipping alliances: OCEAN Alliance (CMA CGM, Cosco Shipping, OOCL, Evergreen) and PREMIER Alliance (ONE, HMM, Yang Ming). In addition, our multi-client terminals can accommodate any new shipowner.

Ships operations
GMP dockworker teams load and unload ships at the quayside using Superpost Panamax gantry cranes that can accommodate the largest container ships in the world.
Yard operations
A container has 4 days' free time at our terminal. During vessel operations (container loading/unloading), straddlers receive an alert via NAVIS, our in-house operating software: the container is moved to the bay or loaded onto trucks in the waiting area.
Road gates
80% of GMP traffic is carried by road. Our two terminals (TDF and TNORD) are accessible by road gates open from 6am to 9pm. The Terminal de France, on the other hand, requires an appointment and a badge for access.
