We are engaged in developing our employees’ talent. We lend support to them in their compulsory training, as well as in the development of their skills. GMP has its own in-house training centre, which provides a number of advantages: flexibility, visibility, regularity and anticipation in our recruitment.
GMP stands for :
- 17 operational employment sectors: forklift truck operator, boilermaker, pump operator, carpenter, refrigeration technician, maintenance technician, electrical technician….
- more than 1,000 dockworkers: GMP is the foremost employer of dockworkers in Le Havre.
- an in-house training centre for specific professions (working at height, straddle carrier/ gantry crane/ terminal trailer/ reach stacker/ empty stacker and 100T mobile crane, overhead crane, CACES 3 & 4 integrated into GMP with dockworker trainers) Expertise recognised internationally and marketed.
- an annual accreditation renewal programme
- a straddle carrier/board crane driving simulator
- a gantry crane driving simulator
- access to a permanent resource of employees trained in specific trades thanks to the dockers’ pool – a specific organisation of dockers.
an integrated maintenance service as close as possible to the equipment, allowing optimum responsiveness.

Improving awareness among our employees
We are engaged in the well-being and safety of our employees. , thereby raising awareness campaigns focused on their day-to-day lives and working environment.
To this target, GMP has its own Quality, Health, Safety and Environment (QHSE) department, which trains, raises awareness and communicates in order to understand and control risks:
- regular audits to identify areas of concern and determine areas for improvement.
- raising awareness of the need for vigilance when using terminals.
In addition, GMP supports and communicates on major national causes, by organising events and discussions: Pink October, Smoke-free month, Mov’ember, Road safety, etc.
